Blog latest 10 post 5 <![CDATA["SLOW DANCE"]]> David L. Weatherford’s poem “Slow Dance”
sends the message in a particularly compelling way:

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round
Or listened to rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun fading into the night?
You better slow down, don’t dance so fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, “How are you?” do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?
You better slow down, don’t dance so fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last.

Ever told your child, “We’ll do it tomorrow,”
And in your haste not seen his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die,
’Cause you never had time to call and say hi?
You better slow down, don’t dance so fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It’s like an unopened gift thrown away.
Life is not a race, so take it slower,
Hear the music before your song is over.

The question isn’t whether this makes sense to you. It’s what are you going to do about it, and when are you going to start?’]]>
4 <![CDATA[Implementation per Chellie Campbell]]> "How many people would like to lose a few pounds?"
"How many people know how to make that happen?"

"So why don't you just do it? " The question was asked.
"You have the information to produce exactly the result you want!"

IT ISN'T INFORMATION THAT COUNTS - IT'S THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INFORMATION.

So it is with Web sites and SEO. How many of you are doing all you can to bring your Web up in the Search Engines?
What are you doing? I truly think with all the info floating around, it is easy to know what to do, but not as easy to implement the process. Help with the process may be needed. But that is at least starting the implementation.
So I say, if you need help - ASK ME.]]>
3 <![CDATA[Google Guidelines to help find, index and rank your site]]> Googles "Quality Guidelines," which outline some of the illicit practices that may lead to a site being removed entirely from the Google index or otherwise penalized. If a site has been penalized, it may no longer show up in results on Google.com or on any of Google's partner sites.

Quality guidelines - basic principles

 • Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as "cloaking."

 • Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"

 • Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.

 • Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

2 <![CDATA[Thoughts on Social Networking]]> A recent study by Mike Sachoff from Web Pro News showed a perceived value of Social Media of 81% enhanced relationships with customers/clients. With 81% build in company branding. 69% a viable recruitment tool, 64% customer service tool and 46% enhanced employee morale.

The most popular social networking tools being used are Facebook (80%), Twitter (66%), YouTube (55%), LinedIn (49%) and blogs (43%)

"The majority (74%) of executives said they visit social media sites at least weekly to read what customers are saying about their company, while 47 percent routinely monitor competitor's use of social networking. Over a third (36%) search social media sites to see what their employees are sharing and 25 percent use social networking to check the background of a potential employee." per Mike Sachoff.

Interesting, as my perception is that people want to be heard and social networking allows for that, personal or business. It is all good.

Please post your thoughts, always welcome to hear from you.]]>
